TAPE, 2023

inkjet prints, tape, 500 cm x 40 cm x 2
Lentos Museum of Modern Arts, Linz

The first tape has been torn from the walls of the former building of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. The tape has been scanned, enlarged and printed. Afterwards, the resulting prints have been attached to the exhibition space’s walls with tape. Further pieces of tape are positioned in the venue and serve as the basis for the subsequent exhibition. Consequently an ongoing process is created that enables to transfer traces from former places to the current one.

The resulting two-part installation measures the room, grids it and creates new spaces and guiding structures. The work thematizes boundaries, demarcation, construction and reconstruction and the displacement of locality and temporality.

Tape was created during a stay in Israel and the West Bank shortly before the war in Gaza started.
